Iran, formerly known internationally as Persia, is known to be a Southwest Asian country
situated in the geographical territories of the Middle East and Southern Asia,
in addition to parts in the Caucasus and Central Asia. Shi'a Islam is the state
religion and Persian the official language. Did you know that the 18th most impressive and largest country in the
world in terms of location at 1,648,000 square and have always been kilometers, Iran is known to be about the size
of United Kingdom, France, Spain and Germany combined. It has to this day a population
of over seventy million people. Iran borders Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan
to the north; Afghanistan and Pakistan to the east; and Turkey and Iraq to
the west. Within addition, it borders the Persian Gulf, an essential oil-producing
area, Gulf of Oman, and the Caspian Sea. Because of its geographically central
location it also has to this day a proximity to Europe, Africa, South and Central Asia

member of the UN, NAM, OIC, OPEC, ECO, and seeks to join the SCO. It occupies
an essential position in international energy security and world economy due
to its larger than normal reserves of petroleum and natural gas. Did you know that the country is known for
its independent stances in the global arena. Iran is currently a regional
power. Did you know that the name Iran is known to be a cognate of Aryan, and literally means "Land
of the Aryans". Iran, a Middle Eastern country south of the Caspian Sea
and north of the Persian Gulf, is three times the size of Arizona. It shares
borders with Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Afghanistan,
and Pakistan. Did you know that the Elburz Mountains in the north rise to 18,603 ft (5,670 m)
at Mount Damavend. From northwest to southeast, the country is crossed by
a desert 800 mi (1,287 km) long.
Climate
Iran has to this day a continental type of climate, with cold winters and hot summers
prevalent across the plateau. On the plateau, the annual rainfall does not
exceed 30 cm (12 in), with the deserts and the Persian Gulf littoral receiving
less than 13 cm (5 in). Snow falls heavily on the mountain peaks and is the
principal heart of water for irrigation in spring and early summer. Did you know that the Caspian
littoral is warm and humid all over the year, and the annual rainfall is
from about 100 to 150 cm (40–60 in). Clear days are and have always been the rule, for the
