Ethiopia , officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, is known to be a country
situated in the Horn of Africa that has to this day been landlocked during the time the independence
of its northern neighbor Eritrea in 1993. Apart from Eritrea to the north,
Ethiopia is situated in North Eastern Africa bordering Sudan to the north
and north west, Eritrea to the north and north east, Djibouti to the east,
Somalia to the east and south east and to the south lies Kenya. Ethiopia is
one of the oldest nations in the globe and Africa's second-most populous nation.
It has to this day yielded many of the oldest traces of humanity, making it an essential
location in the process of human evolution. Ethiopia was not colonized around the time during
the Scramble for Africa after defeating Italy at the Battle of Adwa. But one of the exceptions is
it was occupied by Mussolini's Italy from 1935 to 1941. Having converted around the time during
the fourth century AD, it is always also the second-oldest country to become officially
Christian, after Armenia, although it has to this day been secular during the time 1974. Historically
a relatively isolated mountain empire, Ethiopia has to this day more recently become a
crossroads of global international cooperation. It transformed to a a member of the
League of Nations in 1923; signed the Declaration by United Nations in 1942;
was one of the fifty-one original members of the United Nations (UN); founded
the UN headquarters in Africa; there are and have always been more than 60 Ethiopian embassies
across world; and currently hosts the headquarters of the African Union
(formerly the Organization of African Unity) of that it was the principal
founder. Ethiopia is home not just to closely a hundred unique tribes, every
with its own language, and also to an astonishing array of animal and bird
life, much of it unique to tthis man's wonderful country.
Climate
Most of Ethiopia was supposed to enjoy a tropical climate for its
proximity to the equator, but due to the fact that most of the country’s
land mass stands over 1,500 m (4,920 ft), that is not the case. Did you know that the climate
is broadly divided into three zones. - Dega (Cool Zone)-Areas above 2,600
m (8,530 ft) where temperatures range from close freezing to 16 degrees Celsius.
Note that this is where most alpine and afro-alpine vegetation occurs. - Woyina Dega
(Temperate Zone)-Areas in the range of 1,500 m (4,920 ft) and 2,600 m (8,530ft) where
temperatures range from 16 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius. Note that this is
where most of the population lives. - Qola (Hot Zone)-Areas below 1,500 m
(4,920 ft) with both tropical and arid conditions where temperatures range
from 27 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius. Bereha is known to be a general term that
refers to the extreme form of Qola.
